Dreading School

I'm up at 1 in the morning. Why? I have no valid reason. I've completed all my homework, although I am slightly frazzled that I cannot find my history notebook, chem binder, chem book, and chem lab book. If I lose that shit I am fucked up the ass. That'd probably mean I'd have to cheat and copy someone's entire history notebook and chem lab book and go out and buy a date stamp from staples so it looks like I did all my labs (she stamps them with the date). I don't think it would be that big of a moral issue, I did all the fucking work, so I think it would be cool. Here I am rambling on and on on the morning of the first day of school of 2005. 2004 was a good year. Or at the least the last part was pretty awesome. The beginning of 2004 seems so long ago, I had a different viewpoint in January 2004 then I do now in January 2005. My winter break was definitely the most memorable and greatest one in existance. I met many cool guys and hot girls. I really don't want to go to school, I'm still not confident that I did everything. I don't care about school anymore really. I like high school, but not the school part of it. Wow, Invasion has definitely changed my viewpoints on life. I want to have fun. Life should be fun. Oh and if you happen to be a really hot girl that goes to Mills, are you the one I danced with on new years? Because I don't remember your name.

Talent Show 2004

Talent Show 2004

Check out pictures of last night's talent show, there are actually none of the show, but before and after the show. One's of the show will be up sometime soon.

Everyone did an excellent job in the show, it was hella fun. Afterwards, almost everyone went over to Fridays. Best time I've ever had there. Topped off by Drew's performance of Bohemian Rhapsody with everyone else singing along. (Might wanna have broadband to see this, the video is 14.6 MB)

BBQ, Recitals, and Korea

today was fun.

barbeque at beresford park with some of my peeps (ford, karl, krissia, grace, amanda, nick, and some other people). squirt gunothon was cool, and so was shooting ford in the head about a bajillion times. we went on the swings because well swings are just totally hardcore. but sadly i had to leave early because of a piano recital.

piano recital was pretty good. i messed up once but thats all right because a lot of other people messed up even more than me. the church the recital was in was locked so my piano teacher was freaking out and stuff (like most korean women) and asked my dad what we should do and whether to call 911. yeah i can just imagine what the 911 operator would say to the emergency that we can't get into our piano recital hall.

ate pizza and root beer which is the best. although in piazza's i went to buy the root beer which kinda looks like beer and the guy at the register asked me for ID. somewhat bewildered i pointed out that i was purchasing root beer.

picked up mom from florida after that.

oh i haven't mentioned this to anyone but i'm leaving for korea tomorrow at 10 pm and i wont be back until june 27. my cell phone won't work there so this will probably be the only form of contact and my email which is joshrowley(a)papernapkin.com. <---so automated spam computers don't get my email.

Marty's

Yay! I got best supporting actor for Fame and One Acts.

I didn't get to play piano because Tyler and Nadine thought I wasn't going to do it and didn't have a piano on hand.

Yeah the yearbook dance was fun too.

see above title. Found out in Journalism. She's due in November so next year all us honor kids will have a sub from approx. Thanksgiving to return from winter break.

Mock trial tryouts today. Ehhhh...I don't even know what to compare how I did to because I've never really seen a good tryout b/c you don't get to see other people's tryouts. I definitely did better than my tryout to get on the team for this year. Freiberg's a bastard because he says if you're on mock trial you can't get a lead role in the musical. THAT'S NOT FAIR. WHAT DISCRIMINATION! you can't stop someone from doing something they want. they can't not let you in the play if you've been devoted to it for the past 2 years. Mock trial supposedly takes up too much time from rehearsal yet there are some things wrong with that:

1. Okay, for the fall, the musical practices EVERY FREAKIN WEEKDAY from afterschool until 6-6:30 and it gets later the closer you get to opening night. Mock trial? In the fall there are meetings on SUNDAYS and maybe a meeting every once in a while during the week. but the mock trial meetings are the length of one day of play practice. so we're not being devoted to the musical by being on mock trial yet in the fall muscial they practice 5 or more times more than mock trial per week. AND THE SCHEDULES DON'T CONFLICT AT ALL UNLESS YOU ARE AN ATTORNEY WHICH IS ONE PRACTICE MISSED EVERY WEEK.

2. okay so mock trial big champioinship thing happens in february. thats only the first month of rehearsal for the spring play. HOW IS THAT DISRUPTING THE FLOW OF THE PLAY. if i had something important on a day of a play performance i definitely could not go because of the play performance. same with mock trial. what's going to take priority a mock trial COMPETITION or a dumb read through of the spring play. obviously the one that actually counts towards something! freibergs just being a dick because he thinks everyone on mock trial is like becca, liz, liana, and sheenah. those 4 people were involved in a crapload of activities besides mock trial. mock trial related things only cut into the first month of rehearsal but after mock trial was over those girls were still missing practices. i think this gave freiberg the idea that everone on mock trial is like that.

3. i've been freakin committed to this theater program. every single show i've worked my butt off. and he's not going to give me a good part because i also would like to enjoy mock trial. its not fair to not cast someone deserving of a role for the sole reason that they like to participate in more than one activity.

i'm just pissed off at freiberg....and i suggested to ford to try out for mock trial just to piss that mofo on. because i mean he can't do that to me. i've worked too hard...too many long nights to put up with his shit.

Oh other people in similar situation comment back, i wanna hear your opinions.

English book project % complete: 0 (haven't even started)

OOOOOOO mock trial tryouts tomorrow, but I am contemplating whether to do it or not because Freiberg is a bastard and says he won't accept people into the play if they're on mock trial. What a bastard. Play practice takes hella more hours a week than the sunday meetings for mock trial. Same with HIT. Hopes its just a threat.

Lollygagging

Today was a blah day. Didn't do anything of any importance. I was really lazy and just felt like doing nothing so thats what I did the whole day. No seriously, emailing Mr. J about mock trial was the most strenous thing I did today. Actually no, trying to teach my parents how to play deuces (which I may add is the most awesome card game ever) was pretty hard.

I played around with my new camera. It's pretty awesome. I just got it last Tuesday, it's the Sony DSC-T1. It's one tiny camera. I touched the manual for the first time and played around with some features I didn't know about.

And that was it.

No homework accomplished.

Even though I have to present a book response for English on Wednesday, which includes reading 4 books, I didn't get started on any of them.

I'm dumb; I've had since the beginning of the semester to do this project and waited for the weekend before to do it. I believe the rest of my English class (excluding Priya) has done this too.

Haha stupid Priya was crying because she thinks she failed the vocabulary skit because she insulted Mrs. Greer in it. BIg time. She needs to chill yo.

And what's up with Beau, Edwin, Steven, and Will getting such disappointing grades on the vocabulary skit. Theirs kicked some major booty. And Solomon got an A??? It was put together last minute, and is in plain English BAD! Oh and this isn't a diss on Solomon because he agrees. I helped (and costarred) in his project.

Take a hint.

Stop bothering me.

Memories

Wow, I can't believe Anne Frank has already came and went. I will miss all the great seniors that are graduating this year: Liz, Becca, Liana, Sheenah, and Tim. It has been such a pleasure to have such great friends and to work with them for the past two years. They really are a group of awesome people and this is their last play here at Hillsdale. I wish them the best of luck and will miss them greatly.

Looking to the end of school, it's simply amazing to me that I'm half way through high school. All of the great memories (good and bad) that have composed it I will forever remember. All the hard work and great people I have met. I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about it. I really hope to keep in touch with all the people that mean a lot to me and that after high school we don't just fade out of each others lives. That's one of my biggest worries.

THE W.C.!!!

First, the meet against Mills.
Froshsoph both lost...by a lot.
Varsity both won........by a lot.

I got to swim the fly part in the third medley relay and I think we got 4th or 5th (ryan=back scott=breast eric=free)

Then the next event right after that was 200 free which I was in with Solomon and Stephen. The Mills guy next to me was losing until about a 100 yards when he got ahead about half a body length. But then he miscounted and stopped at 150 and when I finished we got a 1-2-3 Hillsdale finish Sol, Stephen, and me.

100 back=kelby, kev cheng, me 1-2-3 finish again

400 free relay=kev cheng, eric, me, and ryan on anchor. ok i was pretty nervous about this one because we were the so to speak "A" relay and were the only relay besides the one from Mills to swim it. I thought Kevin (fast) and Eric (a little faster than me)were going to get us the lead but I'd screw it up. When Kevin dove in he was only ahead of the Mills guy by a little and kevin is fast. But luckily everyone else on Mills relay sucked so I got to cruise with a big lead. I got 1:08 which is pathetic when my best time is 1:05 from Aragon. I do a lot better when I'm racing against someone next to me and not far apart.

ANNNE FRRRRAAANK was the awesomest of awesome.

People were in tears at the end, and I was about to cry. It was so moving and poignant (Ms. Greer's vocab quizzes come in handy).

EVERYONE SHOULD COME, six bucks for students yo!

tomorrow at 8pm
saturday at 8 pm
sunday at 2 pm

you can buy them at the door or in advance at the little theater during brunch and lunch.

The Basis for Life

Water
You are water. You're not really organic; you're
neither acidic nor basic, yet you're an acid
and a base at the same time. You're strong
willed and opinionated, but relaxed and ready
to flow. So while you often seem worthless,
without you, everything would just not work.
People should definitely drink more of you
every day.

Shame on Waffles.....and Piggy

Burlingame meet today was alright. Both varsity teams won 90 something to 70 something. Frosh-soph got creamed. Girls got something like 120-30 and guys got 100-50. First time I swam the 200 free and i got 2:29; I'm just glad solomon and kevin didn't lap me. And I finally got my 50 free time under 30 seconds to 29.3 in the 200 free relay. 100 back and 100 free in the 400 relay sucked ass b/c I was hella tired because the meet goes:

200 free in the beginning

....some time later....

200 relay followed directly by
100 back then the
100 breast (not in)
400 relay

so I'm in the last 3 out of 4 events and I was hella tired. My back time was 1:22.24 and my best is 1:22.12. My free time was 1:10 and my best in 1:09.

And shame on Waffles (Robbie Kavert) for leaving early and screwing up our whole 400 relay. Eric Brown had to get out of the "B" relay into the "A" relay to take your spot, and Ren had to change hella quickstyle to be in our relay. That may sound easy, but it was a pain to figure out who could replace who because we just realized this one event before our relay.

Chalon needs to control her eating habits. She eats like a pig. At Round Table she ate like 6-7 slices of freakin pizza. Plus she like finished other people's pizza that they left on their plate. And she ate like a 7 inch stack of pepporonis that people took off their pizza. It was disgusting. And she wolfs in down with sauce all over her face. It was disgusting. It was disgusting. It was disgusting. No wonder she has like a 1:00 50 free, she probably weighs like 300 pounds.

The Underdog Reigns Again!!!

Believe it or not, I beat Solomon in something today in swimming. Erich had us do a little "competition" to see who had the fastest reaction on dives. The first one to get to a line that was about 8 yards out "won". I get up onto the diving blocks and guess who's my competition. Solomon. Oh GREAT! how the hell am I supposed to win against the best swimmer on our freakin' team. But by some miraculous........uhhhh....miracle I BEAT HIM! I BEAT SOLOMON AT SOMETHING!

accomplishment: made it across pool underwater with no breathes; never been able to do that

Presented by Torpedo de Cloggier and Thug-Off

Filmed my English commercial today with Ford. It is so awesome. First his, TORPEDO DE CLOGGIER. Then mine, THUG-OFF. If you're in second or third period Greer then you'll see one of ours. They are both cool, and Torpedo de Cloggier had a cameo appearance on my commercial.
